Takeart|Atlas Monument - Marcin Maćkowiak - 12-17-2014

Hi,

Atlas Monument is missing from my city after World War II. No one knows what exactly happened to him. I recreated it with old pictures and drawings.
Enjoy!

I added him to augmented reality app to see how it looks like. Here you are.

Excellent and well detailed work. I liked it.
Congrats Marcin

I just could see a minor issue related to use the sphere object in this picture (creases in the sphere bottom):

This area always need some work if it will be visible - I thing the top side is.

Micheus I knew about this issue after render but I forgotten to fix it : /

Thanks for comments Smile

Nice start. For human figures ... I don't think I'd ever start with polygons again. Well ... maybe the very rough skeleton in polygons. But then I'd advocate 3DCoat for roughing in next level of detail (abs, skin folds, all these hard things). You could always do a retopo if you wanted to get back to polygons.

Anyway ... enjoy the crafting/creative process !

Great job, good work and fascinating story behind it's disappearance,

I had to go and find some original photos. I wonder if it was a bronze statue and went missing after ww2 then the metal value alone would have been an inducement to acquire it. and not for its artistic and historical value.
