The 64bit version of YafaRay 0.1.5 RC is available for download. This is a release candidate and not an official release. Since I don't have a 64bit machine, I can't tell you anything about how well it works.
Here is a link to the posting about it in the YafaRay forum... YafaRay 0.1.5 RC They are having trouble getting the 32bit version to compile correctly at this time. I will add a link here when it is available. Edit: There is a 32bit version of YafaRay 0.1.5 available now in the YafaRay forum. Look for the posting by povmaniac... YafaRay 0.1.5 32 bit oort

hay
i have download the YafaRay Rendering Software. but is not working in properly.i have some trouble for used it. but your information is more helpful for used it.you have handle this software in carefully hay bye
I discovered that two of the Ambient Light > Backgrounds (Constant and Gradient) did not produce light when UseBkgnd was enabled under YafaRay Render Options. I found out that there was a change that went into effect with YafaRay 0.1.2 that moved this setting to the Background settings for Constant and Gradient. They now work the same as Image and HDRI Backgrounds. YafaRay 0.1.2 Notes. Note that this now works for Direct Light, Photon Mapping, and Pathtracing.
I have updated the Wings3D Yafaray plug-in to reflect that change. I also did some edits in the help info under Edit > Plugin Preferences > YafaRay. I changed the default setting for Gamma under YafaRay Render Options from 1.0 to 2.2 based on what I have read in the YafaRay forum. YafaRay Gamma. The info is a bit confusing since it applies to Blender but in tests I found that Gamma at 2.2 seems to give better results. I may be wrong and can change the default back to 1.0 easily. The updated version is on my Wings3D page. I have tested it on Wings3D 1.5.3 and everything seems to work. You will also want to get the YafaRay 0.1.5 SSS build by Povmaniac that is on my website. Using the official version of YafaRay will not give you access to Subsurface Scattering. oort
An updated version of the YafaRay plugin is on my website.
I added Darktide Sunsky to the Infinite Light. I added "Real Sun" to Sunsky in Infinite Light. I renamed "Background" to "Sky" in Infinite Light. Note that, in order to see a Sun Disk when using Infinite Light, you have to be facing the line that extends from the Infinite Light. I added "Rotation" to the Ambient Light "HDRI" and "Image" options. I removed the second "Power" option from the Ambient Light to be consistent with all other lights. I removed the "Prefilter" option from "HDRI" and "Image" options, since that feature is not available in YafaRay. I renamed "Background" to "Background Light/Environment" in Ambient Light. I removed "Cast Shadows" from Infinite, Spot and Point lights, since that feature is not available in YafaRay. I still need to remove that option from Area lights. Under Material Properties, I changed the "Set Default" button to "Use Default" to better reflect what the button does. The OpenGL Diffuse color is Used when the button is clicked... You may have to manually install the new version. Using File > Install Plugin may not work. It did not work for me on Windows 7. David Bluecame, YafaRay User/Developer, has created a new test build of YafaRay. The new test version is 0.1.99 and it seems to work with my latest YafaRay plugin. Version 0.1.99 does not include support for SSS... You can get the test version in the Testing Builds section of the YafaRay forum... YafaRay Testing Builds Thanks, oort
I have posted an updated version of the YafaRay plugin on my website.
I have added "Diffuse Photons" and "Caustic Photons" options to Ambient lights and Infinite lights "Sky light" options. I haven't noticed much obvious difference when using these options. But I have only done limited tests. I have added the "SPPM" lighting method to the YafaRay Render Options. I did a few tests with my old colored glass rings file and like the results I get using SPPM. oort
The YafaRay website has been down for several days now. No information on why so far...
TheBounty Renderer has a website at this time. TheBounty Renderer will hopefully work with the latest Wings3D YafaRay plugin. I will test and update this post with information. (The YafaRay plugin will still work with TheBounty Renderer. If YafaRay ceases to exist we can always switch to TheBounty. We may want to do that anyway since YafaRay development is so slow and it still does not support SSS, while TheBounty does support SSS) Here is a link to TheBounty Renderer thread in this forum... The Bounty Renderer Wings3D Forum Thread Edit: The YafaRay website is finally back up. Thanks, oort

I have posted an updated version of the YafaRay plugin on my website.
I have updated the Modulator settings (Diffuse,Specular,Shininess,Normal sliders) in the Material Properties Dialog. The only ones needed were Diffuse (Renamed “Color Factor”) Shininess (Renamed “Value Factor”) and Normal. I have added the ability to specify the Shader (“Diffuse (Shiny Diffuse,Glossy)”) to be used so that more are included and the user has more control. If the Normal slider is anything but 0.0 the Shader will be forced to bump_shader. The following should be working... Mirror Color Mapping, Glossy Color Mapping, Shiny Diffuse Mirror Mapping, Glossy Reflection Mapping, Transparency Mapping, Translucency Mapping, Emit Mapping. I also spelled out the whole names of the Blending modes (mix,add,multiply,etc.). I don't think I broke anything but let me know if I did... "Color Factor" and "Value Factor" use the Diffuse slider and Shininess Slider settings. If these were set to 0.0 in your old files you may need to change Color Factor and/or Value Factor to 1.0, since that is the default setting used by YafaRay. Thanks, oort
I have posted an updated version of the YafaRay plugin on my website.
In Material Properties, I have renamed "Modulator" to "Texture". In "Texture" (formerly "Modulator"), I have added "SSS" to the list of materials which can use the "Diffuse" shader. I have added "Plugins Path" under "YafaRay Options" (Edit > Plugin Preferences > YafaRay). You will have to manually type your path if it does not match the default. It is not possible to add browse to a folder in the current version of Wings3D. I have updated the Help (?) information under "YafaRay Options". oort
I have posted an updated version of the YafaRay plugin on my website.
I added Light Portal under Material Properties > YafaRay > Object Parameters > Object Type. Assign the material to a plane and put the plane in front of a window to reduce rendering times for Photon Mapping and Pathtracing. Leave "Photon Only" enabled in the Light Portal, for all lighting methods, or the render will fail. Leave "Diffuse Photons and "Caustic Photons" disabled in the Light Portal, when using Photon Mapping Lighting method. Enable "Diffuse Photons", in the Ambient light settings, when using an HDRI under Ambient Light, when using Photon Mapping Lighting method, or the render will fail. At least that is what I have found, testing with a closed room with one window and lighting with an Ambient Light... I think this is the last of the missing features for the YafaRay plugin. If not please let me know. If something is not working please let me know. Edit: Tested and working with Wings3D 1.4.1 and 1.5.3 and 1.5.4 Thanks, oort |
