CAMERA NAVIGATION
You view your model scene as if you see it through a camera lens and you can change the viewpoint (i.e., zoom, pan or tumble) by moving the mouse in combination with the mouse buttons. The Information Line will show what mouse operations are relevant in the current context.
You can also use the Hotkeys to switch the view to aspects aligned to the standard axes, see the [View | View Along | {axis}] command, and quickly return to the default viewpoint by using the R Hotkey.
What Type of Mouse?
Control of the camera depends on your mouse type. If you have another type of pointing device, such as a roller ball, then what matters is how its control switches map to the common types of mouse described below.
The middle mouse button is assumed to be set to its default setting in your Operating System; other middle mouse button settings may prevent its use.
Three Button Scroll Mouse
The default mode is Wings 3D Camera Mode.
- Zoom in/out by using Scroll.
- Use Alt+Scroll while rolling the wheel for a smaller zoom factor.
- Pan left/right or up/down by using the Arrow keys.
- Start camera mode with MMB (i.e. press Scroll)
- Pan in any direction by holding MMB while moving the mouse in various directions.
- Tumble in any direction by moving the mouse in various directions.
- Stop camera mode by LMB.
Three Button Mouse
The default is Nendo Camera Mode.
- Zoom in/out by using RMB while moving the mouse forward and backward.
- Pan left/right or up/down by using the Arrow keys.
- Start camera mode with MMB.
- Pan in any direction by using the Q hotkey and move the mouse in various directions.
- Tumble in any direction by moving the mouse in various directions.
- Stop camera mode by LMB.
Two Button Mouse
The default is Nendo Camera Mode.
- Zoom in/out by holding RMB while moving the mouse forward and backward.
- Pan left/right or up/down by using the Arrow keys.
- Start camera mode with Ctrl+RMB.
- Pan in any direction by pressing the Q hotkey and move the mouse in various directions.
- Tumble in any direction by moving the mouse in various directions.
- Stop camera mode by LMB.
