Faces selected but not highlighted - flügel3d - 11-13-2013 Steps to reproduce the bug:
This does not occur (at least) under Windows XP 32bit RE: Faces selected but not highlighted - micheus - 11-14-2013 flügel3d, I can't reproduce it here. Could you record a small video with your sequence and showing what is happening wrong? Just to be sure that I repeating exactly the same steps as your. My config: Wings3d 1.5.1, Windows 7 64bit, Intel HD RE: Faces selected but not highlighted - flügel3d - 11-15-2013 Here is video showing the problem: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9QbphGnZS0uT096blVSaTdFZnc/edit?usp=sharing I start with a cylinder and select two faces. They are not highlichted until I have choosen ".Extrude. | .Normal." . Selected edges and vertices are highlighted immediately. RE: Faces selected but not highlighted - micheus - 11-15-2013 flügel3d, thanks for the video. So, I confirmed I had done the same operations that you and I could not reproduce it on two PC (i5/Win7/on-board Radeon and i5/Win7/on-board Intel HD). You told before that it not happened under WinXP. Is it a second machine? What are the both video card installed? As I post in the other thread, this "user random" problem can be complicated to find its origin. Could you use the GPU Caps Viewer I linked in that post and try extract the video card information? Maybe I can find something to investigate. RE: Faces selected but not highlighted - flügel3d - 11-18-2013 Hi Micheus, The XP machine is my PC at home. The Win 64bit machine is my company's laptop; a 3.5 year old Dell Latitude E4310. Here is a link to a zip-file with the GPU Caps Viewer export as .xml and as .txt of the Win 64bit machine. The machine is not running the latest driver and, as it is a company's laptop, I will not update it. Furthermore, I have installed Wings 3D on that machine just out of curiosity. Therefore it might not be worth to analyze it. Flügel3D RE: Faces selected but not highlighted - micheus - 11-18-2013 Thanks for the file flügel3d. Our i5 processors are from the "same age" and basically have the same specifies: i5 M520 vs. i5 650 By checking the attached file and comparing with mine, we can notice that they: Code: - use the same GPU: GMA HD Anyway, I still need to check if some of these "extra" extensions are used by wings3d. (I don't think so) RE: Faces selected but not highlighted - Frederick1337 - 11-29-2013 (11-18-2013, 04:04 PM)micheus Wrote: Thanks for the file flügel3d. I am having the same problem on an HP Laptop model G60-535DX running Win7 Ultimate 64. I have tried every build and driver combination I can think of. I am kinda stumped. Wings runs flawlessly on this same computer on the Debian boot. I guess I could just model on the Debian drive, however for what I am doing that would require flipping back and forth through OS, which would be very time consuming to say the least. The current Driver for my intel onboard is 8.15.10.2869 (10/4/2012) 4500mhd series adapter. Thanks for any and all help in advance. Could you make available the report you can get with the small utility GPU Caps Viewer as flügel3d has done? (see post #4) Maybe looking those informations we can find a way to avoid it to happen with "random users". I hope this helps. Sorry I didn't include this before. RE: Faces selected but not highlighted - micheus - 12-06-2013 Just something a found today that shows the Intel video card is not a problem only for Wings3d: Quote:SketchUp's performance relies heavily the graphics card driver and it's ability to support OpenGL 1.5 or higher. Historically, people have seen problems with Intel based cards with SketchUp. We don't recommend using these graphics cards with SketchUp at this time. |
