RE: SculptGL - Extrudeface - 12-14-2015

I can confirm this is a very, *VERY* interesting tool. I would not use it also for building the base mesh, but it is indeed an amazing tool for detailing over a Wings3d modeled character or object (or whatever).

The paint tool does vertex colors, not texture pixels, it seems, but I tend to prefer my own options for 3D paint and traditional 2D texturing. (I like Blender for that. I like Blender for many things, too, I just usually don't model with it. And Krita, Gimp, etc, for 2D texturing, always my final step. )

The dynamic remesh is really sweet. Combined with non dynamic tools, you can build human anatomy muscles easily, for example (or creature features, etc). The UI in general, imho very well designed. The performance here, quite aceptable, no slow down at all in my experience. This is a first generation oldie core i7 with 8 mb ram, in some aspects slower than the lower gamma of pentiums today, according to cpuboss. Still, great performance even if it weren't a web app. that means that I have modeled in stand alone softwares for this task that have behaved quite worse !. (sculptris works great, of course)

It works with quads except for dynamic tesselation switched on.

I love that it seems to work in quads, so you can keep in quads for long if you imported a model from wings, avoiding so the need of dynamic mesh generation, and leave dynamic tesellation and mesh "growth" for the very final touches, or some point where you wont need quads anymore.

Highly recommended tool as a Wings3d companion, IMHO (even with just a very basic character or object structure from Wings3d).

Huge congrats to the developer.

EDIT: Oh, one thing more. If you ever come to make a bit of a tangled area -this can happen with any software of this type- that is, some pinched weird triangles or ugly wireframe flow -you can activate wireframe view, the wires don't slow it down importantly, so you can check how you are fixing it- , it worked great for me using the flatten tool with small radius (with the intensity you might need!) but with decimate triggered on, and up to 100%. As I was already in dynamic mesh mode, it's fixed as a triangle mesh, but I don't care so much about it, as is mostly to generate normal map/displacement map mesh thing.

I even wish it had also a download version...
