RE: Unify edge length - ggaliens - 03-31-2016 Have not made a MANIFOLD LABS for Mac OSX in a long time. Sorry about that ... wish it was easier. Best thing to do would be to commit the code to core dev. Have not had time to do that either. Sorry. If someone can get me a VMWARE or VBOX mach dev environment ... I could try making a Mac build. I don't have a physical mac OS X anymore. RE: Unify edge length - micheus - 03-31-2016 (03-31-2016, 05:18 PM)ggaliens Wrote: If someone can get me a VMWARE or VBOX mach dev environment ... I could try making a Mac build. You would to try this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYMEb0ZCfes I also wanted to build a "real" one, but it was impossible to put the Yosemite to work in my machine. So, it seems that build a "virtual" one is the only option to get a Mac environment. I will probably try that some day. Let me know if you was able to build it. RE: Unify edge length - beng27 - 04-02-2016 OK, that's fine, I understand. Basically, I've recently discovered W3D and I'm using it to make 3D sculptures & then print them out. Its been a steep learning curve though Ive got fairly good at it. There are however 3 things I find myself wanting to do time and time again & unable to achieve in W3D2.02 (And TopMod seems to crash too often to be useable) The key thing for me that would really help is the ability to set a group of selected different-length edges to a particular length , and I can't find a work-around. Any way to solve this would be great, even if I have to borrow a PC to do it. So, is it included in the current ML release? Or was that a 'special' version you just knocked up to answer the OPs question? RE: Unify edge length - ggaliens - 04-02-2016 It should be in ManifoldLab current release ... but that's PC only. I'll have a look now to see if I can find how it presents to end user. RE: Unify edge length - beng27 - 04-22-2016 OK, what's required to generate ML for OSX? Is it just a case of recompiling? I'd offer time to help if necessary. RE: Unify edge length - ggaliens - 04-22-2016 There is a considerable bit of extra wrangling to make a Manifoldlab version from a plain core wings 2.0.2 build tree. Maybe the most time consuming parts are building all the tools to shell out to. There are 4 or 5 of these tools. TETGEN, QHULL, CarveCSG, MMGS and probably at least one more that I'm forgetting. Building all these things is a P.I.T.A. Which I why I was talking about HACINTOSH approaches. |
