RE: Laggy geometry window - tkbd - 04-11-2017

I researched at some of the camera lags in the Geomtry window too.
Not only polygons in one object but also a lot of objects in a scene will cause lag.

I did test by 2 wings files.

A Wings file that contains 448 Cubes= 448 objects (2688faces)
v1.5.4 : very fast.
v2.0 - 2.1.5 : very Slow.

A Wings file that contains 1792 Cubes (10752faces)
v1.5.4 : A little slow.
v2.0 : very slow but Geometry graph OK
v2.1.5 : To doing Everything will be lagged very much. Freeze if open Gemtery Graph window.

But on v2.x.x, Using to Body > Combine command, and many cubes makes to grouped, the camera moved very quickly!!!Biggrin
Perhaps Geometry Graph process and WxWidgets are a bottleneck.

(MacOSX 10.11.6, 2.8GHz Interl Core i5 (2 Core) ,Memory:8GB, Intel iris 1536MB)

In such a case,How to speed up an operation?, working by wireframe mode or Use Body > combine command to the objects.
I think developers are doing their best.
So, I report this and would like to expect at the next version. Smile

I have gotten many objecys to work better on windows and linux, on mac it still is really slow and I don't know why.
So it's hard for me fix that.

Couldn't that be related to the high resolution display (retina)?
In this case test the application in low resolution mode wouldn't help to measure that? (https://support.apple.com/en-is/HT202471)

I see. It is a little sad. :_:

No I couldn't,Because my main Mac doesn't support Retina display.
But if an opportunity to use mac which support Retina,I'm going to check it!
