Select by Material.. blurry freeze in rare cases? - PeterC (PC) - 12-13-2012 I'm wondering if this just me, some combo of gfx card/driver etc or if everyone gets this.. Someone take a min to test? Happened to me last night while modeling a lamp shade thingy out of a half sphere, but here's a simple way I found to recreate it
Note if I save before the final step, load the model back in and THEN try the last step everything works fine I closed Erlang when this happened to me with the lamp and rebuilt it later thinking I had no choice, but I notice now there's a simple way to recover from this actually Just restore/maximize the W3D window (simply minimizing, then maximizing won't fix it).. this seems to force the window to wake up 'n redraw. (Tho the glitchyness remains, and if you try the last step again it will once again freeze.. have to save/load to perma-fix the model) RE: Select by Material.. blurry freeze in rare cases? - oort - 12-13-2012 PC, I think I followed your instructions exactly. No problem on my computer. Maybe your video card is worse than mine... Edit: I tested on the latest snapshot... let me try with 1.4.1... Edit2: Just tested with 1.4.1... got the bug... must have been fixed in the new snapshot release... Edit3: I had to first deselect everything and then Mat2 > RMB > Select the material to get the lockup. oort RE: Select by Material.. blurry freeze in rare cases? - micheus - 12-14-2012 It would be useful tell us what version you are using (full "name" if possible) and don't forget that bugs report for the latest snapshot should be posted in this thread (see the first post) RE: Select by Material.. blurry freeze in rare cases? - PeterC (PC) - 12-14-2012 We've been on 1.4.1 going on two years now, thought it was safe to leave that off But true enough, there's the snapshot releases too. Anyhow, 1.4.1 yes, and oort's right, the problem's gone in the last snapshot version, I'll always check for that when I find a reproducible bug from now on. Thanks guys |
