I've been doing similar stuff in 3DCoat but adding this feature to Wings3D is neat... :-) RE: Wings-2.1.5 Released - oort - 01-28-2017 In the Outliner, Select an Image > RMB > LMB Create Normal Map = a Normal Map of the image will be added in the Outliner window. If you use RMB Create Normal Map, you get some options. oort RE: Wings-2.1.5 Released - micheus - 01-28-2017 (01-28-2017, 05:21 PM)kenmo Wrote: Any demos of this normal map command? It's easy to use as oort already shown you the options. The default LMB option must be enough for most the cases. The RMB allow you increase the "height" value and play with X and Y inversion. The Y inversion can be useful if you want create an normal map compatible with DirectX: -Y means DirectX; +Y means OpenGL. Wings3d default is OpenGL. If you invert X and Y together you will get the whole map inverted. So, what was up will be down and vice versa. You can use an color image as input. It will be automatically converted to grayscale based on its luminance. But, sometimes you will get better results if you extract the bump/height map from it by using in an image editor software since you have more options. RE: Wings-2.1.5 Released - kenmo - 02-03-2017 I'm starting to fall back in love with Wings3D!!!! Is there any good video tutorials on the cleanup command or normal map command? I appreciate the replies by oort and micheus but I really need a video... Again many thanks.... RE: Wings-2.1.5 Released - oort - 02-04-2017 Kenmo, I don't know of any video tutorials for those commands. At what step are you getting confused? Maybe we can clarify with words... Please post in another thread and forum section for questions on using Wings3D. It would be neat if in addition to Normal Map we could have the option to create Height, Specular, and Ambient Occlusion maps in the same way. See the following thread about a Gimp plugin that can do that. Insane Bump plugin oort RE: How to use 'Create Normalmap' option featured in 2.1.5 - micheus - 02-06-2017 Just in case... I added a post dedicated to that in the How To session: Using the Wings3D 'Create Normalmap' feature |
