A new version (2.4) of OpenFX is available for download. You can now render stereoscopic images (.jps) and stereoscopic movies (.avi).

Download OpenFX

In order to view the .jps files you will need to install StereoPhoto Maker....

Edit: I just noticed that OpenFX comes with a program called ImagePreviewer.exe which will let you view .jps files. StereoPhoto Maker is better since it gives you more power to edit the files.

Edit2: To watch stereoscopic movie (.avi) files you will need to install StereoMovie Player... StereoMovie Player Website

So what do you think of the modelling and animation workflow in this piece of... software?

RE: OpenFX Modeling/Rendering/Animation Software - oort - 11-06-2013

nemyax,
For modeling I prefer Wings3D of course. In the past I have seen other OpenFX users do impressive models with OpenFX Designer. I just prefer box/subd modeling. You can export as .3ds from Wings3D and import that into OpenFX Designer. There is no limit on the number of polys used in the .3ds files. The developers of OpenFX have removed that limit from .3ds files.

Animation with OpenFX is much easier and intuitive than it is in Blender. Water and ocean waves are created easily by adding an "Effect" to the model. You can also insert particles. Blender is more powerful but you may not need all that power.

The rendering is not photo-realistic like you can get with YafaRay but it is faster. I wish they would integrate YafaRay into OpenFX.
