Do you think, old wingers, those pieces can be useful for newbies? RE: Wings3d Channel Tutorials - greytery - 12-02-2012 "Old Wingers" ? ... Maybe you are asking the wrong people for advice about whether this is useful for newbies. As per the song by Jethro Tull: " ...your wise men don't know how it feels to be as thick as a brick". Now, as a Newbie, and thicker than most, I'm in a good position to say how much I appreciated this quick tour. I don't know where you're sitting so I can't reach out and pat you on the back. So: ... Pat! Pat! Pat! Thank you. ![]() At the moment I'm still looking at the 'Getting Started' documentation. User manuals are OK for some people, but seeing the program in action is good. RE: Wings3d Channel Tutorials - micheus - 12-02-2012 Fonte, I think yes - they are useful for newbies, beginners,... I would like just make an addition for "003 Wings3d: Subdivision (1)". You are talking about to model by using proxy mode in order to create a low level object and viewing how it will looks like after you smooth it. Isn't it? So, at 5:00 you show us how the object will looks like after some smooth (3 times), and we know that the default proxy level for Quick Smooth Preview is one (1 time). What I think you could add is the Preferences->Misc->OpenCL proxy level, that can show us that 3 levels of smooth when we use the Quick Smooth Preview option. But, just if the OpenCL library is available, of course. RE: Wings3d Channel Tutorials - Fonte Boa - 12-02-2012 Thanks for the kind words: you cant imagine how important they are for me... ![]() ![]() Micheus: i'm using 1.4.1 release. Why dont i have an "Open CL proxy level" here, in preferences/misc tab? Was this implemented to 1.4.1? Do you remember when Quick Smoothed Preview was working with disctinct smooth levels? Was that a Scorpius ad-on? What do i have to install so that my video card identify Open CL library? Was this implemented to 1.4.1?Sorry, Fonte. I'm always working with the last snapshot. This resource was release on Dec 2011 - in this thread strangely named Wings Snapshots (from Dec 2012) (did you notice that 2012? I've just seen now ![]() Fonte Boa Wrote:What do i have to install so that my video card identify Open CL library?Well, your video card should supports OpenCL and then it will be available. If it doesn't you may have an option - check this post in the old forum too. |
