Hotkeys - ubiquity - 08-31-2014 As I work through the user interface I notice both the list of hotkeys and the menu listings show upper case whereas on my Windows XP installation only lower case hotkeys actually work. Is this discrepancy universal? Is this discrepancy universal? It's not a discrepancy, it's a "feature". See, the uppercase lettlers represent those you see stamped in your keyboard (all uppercase) Hotkeys are case sensitive. So, if you want set a hotkay to use an "uppercase" char you have to use the SHIFT key together - like you do in any text editor. That meams you can creat many hotkeys by using the same char: A, SHIFT+A, CTRL+A, ALT+A, SHIFT+CTRL+A, and so on. I hope this clarify the concept about it. RE: Hotkeys - Radi - 08-31-2014 Oh. I dont know about that.. Thanks, very usefull. :-) RE: Hotkeys - ubiquity - 08-31-2014 OK - thank you! I shall be sure to point this out in any writing I do about this. It is certainly sensible to make them case sensitive to extend the range available, my confusion stemmed from years of automatically using the shift key with a letter that I see listed in upper case. |
