Hello to all artists with interest in VR -
Would anyone here be interested in trying out a free service, which provides a simple way to get your artwork viewable in VR? Our system is called 'inVR' and has entered public beta. We're looking for a select few artists to work with, to continue adding features and growing it into a truly useful service, for artists and others who are interested in VR.
We currently support FBX format only, but plan to add support for other formats such as OBJ soon. Artists who model in Wings and animate in Maya, Max, Blender, etc would be able to export to FBX directly using those programs, while others could use the free Autodesk FBX Converter tool in the meantime.
I'm a programmer, not a 3D artist, but I have a great appreciation for the self-explanatory nature of Wings. While programming games at various jobs, Wings has allowed me to quickly create my own temp art assets, so I can continue working while the actual artists create the final artwork. Also, any software written in a functional language such as Erlang gets my immediate support. This seems to be a passionate community of artists and programmers, so I look forward to working with anyone interested in simplifying the VR content creation workflow.
