I wonder how much time is spent updating progress bar ?

I will need to investigate. It might be MOST TIME by looks of it.

what we need most now is a special import plugin that will correct any error in the manifoldnees of an object imported... I have frequently such an issue since i am very often torturing mesh to such a degree that i should go to the priest and confess to all my sin.i rarely do and it is a good thing for the priest.Please if you have time to look into it.

First we need to know what kinds of problems your manifolds suffer from.

Probably can't fix all problems automatically as you know.

If you want to share a broken model to see if I can hand fix it ... let me know. I'd take a look.
