Please bear with me as I am a complete beginner with Wings 3D.

Currently I have the latest version of Wings 3D, Oortmans3d YafaRay plug-in, and Python.

It took me forever and a day to get the new YafaRay plugin to be recognized by Wings 3D, but I did it with the -pp path switch and adding C:\YafaRay to my system path in Windows XP.

The problem is that when I attempt to render the default startup screen with a simple object using the YafaRay renderer, it produces an error at the end that states something like XML Parser error, unable to open C:/Program, or something similar. Please forgive me, as I am not at my computer at the moment, and don't have the error message exact.

At any rate, the render ends with the error, and no tga file is created.

Does anyone know how to fix such a problem? I really want to start creating some great pictures with Oortman's special plug-in.

Thanks in advance to all who reply, and also remember that I am a complete beginner and don't know the advanced language that some of you might use. So please dumb it down a bit for me.

megallag65, as you are new here...
...when you have to download a plugin for Wings3d, that's because it doesn't come with official pack. So, the right place to put bug reports for them is in the Design & Development (Plug-ins and feature development discussion) Wink

We are using the thread Yafaray pluygin for reporting plugin bugs and YafaRay Rendering Software for things related to Yafaray install. Follow us, check it. Smile

About the question, please always put the exact error information.
Quote:"... it produces an error at the end that states something like XML Parser error, unable to open C:/Program, or something similar."
That doesn't help us much. I'm sure you can reproduce the error and put the right message you are seeing.

Anyway, I already experienced something like that - I can't say if it's the same. Check this post (and following) and this other (and following)

megallag65,
Glad you are interested in using the plug-in. Yes, I would bet on it being the same problem that Micheus is thinking it is. Don't use spaces in file or folder names. This will be fixed... I think I can when I get a chance... Smile

That one got me just yesterday when I was playing with YafaRay.

Another possibility is that you are playing with SSS and using Direct Light method.

See you in one of the other threads that Micheus directed you to.... Smile

Thanks for your speedy reply. I'll be more mindful of the correct place to post messages in the future, and be more precise with any issues.

Problem is solved. As was suggested, my issue was a space in the output folder name. Thanks for your help guys.

I have updated the plugin with the fix for the problem with spaces in file names and folder names. It is ready for download. Thanks again to Micheus for helping to fix this.
