I am here due to trying to post on the Wings3D Facebook pages which all seem to be broken

I don't think it's broken. I saw your post because you made it in the public space in that fanpage.
Fonte Boa, who owns it, created a private group which you need to hit a button to be approved. Just access the fanpage and scroll left the top menu until you find the Groups option.

The Wings3D community is very small (compared to any other) and it's hard to get then engaged. I already found another two older ones at facebook - all dead.


Anyway...

Having browsed the forum I don't see a suitable section for my queries of trying to get help in following some of the outdated tutorials in the youtube channel.

Your questions about them can be done/put in the Interface & Usage section since they probably are related to Wings3D functionalities.
