More options is always a good thing.
It looks like Moonray is not available as something that a person can download and install without having to build it from the source files. I see that as a big downside for most users of Wings3D.
LuxCore looks impressive.
Appleseed looks most impressive to me and seems to support most of the features currently available in YafaRay plus SSS support. Global Illumination is also included. Based on what I have read since yesterday and the video I posted previously Appleseed would be the one I want most. I would be happy to see whichever you choose to do first.
Yes, the situation with YafaRay doesn't look good. One of DavidBlucame's post mentions "personal circumstances" delaying his work on YafaRay. Hopefully he is ok.
