Although Nendo and Mirai are extinct, if one is using a two button mouse or a laptop without scroll wheel button Nendo works quite well. At least that is what I used when I didn't have a mouse with scroll wheel MMB.

Hold down the Alt key while zooming for a smaller zoom (dolly) factor and more accurate way. You can adjust the setting for this under preferences.
