I was wondering if the lamina command, as implemented in Mirai, ever made it to Wings 3D. I'm running 1.5.4 and it isn't there. I did a search of this forum with no results.

The lamina command would allow for the creation of a one plane ngon defined by user input along 2 axes. Very useful when creating 2d profiles of complex shapes.

Right now I get around that shortcoming by creating the lamina in Maya but I'd much rather do the whole process within Wings 3D. Thanks!

Use Extract on a single face.

Thanks for the suggestion, very useful. In Mirai, I was able to create a face consisting of as many vertices as desired. It invariably required some fixing (cutting) as concavity issues were impossible to avoid but it was very handy when tracing over an image plane of a complex 2D shape, such as a side view of a vehicle.

You can always triangulate the resulting concave faces.
