Just starting to learn Windows 7. If I search for my preferences.txt file Windows 7 tells me the file is under C:/Users/oort/AppData/Roaming/Wings3D. How do I make the AppData folder visible so I can look at the files in that folder? Sorry for such a newbie question. Windows XP has been my friend for a long time... Smile

I guess I can google it but thought I would ask since I am sure others will need to know. I searched the forum but did not find that question...

Edit: I just found it... under Organize > Folder and search options > View Tab > Hidden Files and folders > Show hidden files, folders and drives.

Good to know you have a new PC. Smile
It's almost in the same way you do at XP. Start Windows Explorer and hit the ALT key. That will show up the usual File menu. Look for Tools->Folder options.
I would try to describe the process, but someone already did that. So, take a look at this link: Windows 7: Folder Options - Open
In the Folder Options I think you already know what you can do in it, but in Hidden files and folders set it to "Show hidden files, folders or drivers" that should be enough.

Micheus,
Thanks for the info. I just posted an edit since I had just figured it out myself... Smile

My Windows XP died so I decided it was time. I think it is suspicious that it died just as Bill is ending support for it. When at the store buying one, the sales person said he had several people who had the same thing happen... just saying...
