Hey guys,

Is there any option/plugin in Wings or program that let us convert triangulated mesh into quads? This is useful for cleaning up imported quad objects that were converted to triangles.

If someone still don`t know what I mean here is a plugin for 3Dsmax
http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/quadrifyall - this is exactly what I need.

Thanks in advance

Marcin,
I am not sure how powerful it is but in Wings3D there is Untriangulate which is under Tesselate in face mode. I just tested it on a sphere. I first triangulated it and then was able to untriangulate it.

Tesselate > Untriangulate. RMB or LMB tiny box for options.

Thanks oort, worked perfectly. It`s useful when you are working with STL file, triangle mesh is difficult to edit. With quad mesh you can easier edit every edges and faces.

Thanks again!

This one option or feature (tessellate) was what I was looking for, it worked very nice. It always seems like the easiest and best tools are found with the lesser known or used programs. I'm only a hobbyist struggling to get a grip on the workflow of 3d and plan on spending some in depth time to learn wings 3d, I'm sure I can accomplish much more than just this one nice feature.
Thanks for this heads up to the poster
