I haven't used Wings in a long time but as far as I recall you could transform a face (maybe rotate it) so that its normal becomes the average of the normals of the surrounding faces. I just can't find it.
Am I mistaken or otherwise is there any workflow in this respect?
Case: the problem I have is that smoothing a body leaves some ugly creases because the normals of the initial adjacent faces don't vary gradually. That's why I want to "blur" their normals.
Note: I don't want to edit the normals themselves and leave the verts/faces in their original position (if this would be even possible)! Instead I want to actually transform the faces (rotate/move) so that the normals get "blurred" as a result.
