Error: Failed to start Wings 3D: 193
Windows XP sp3, GL 1.4
Is not possible use Wings3D 2.0.2 without GL2? Sad

No we now require OpenGL 2.1, and have not tested on XP either and will not care about that either.
Time for you to upgrade the OS anyway, XP is really old now.

I understand that it requires OpenGL 2.1, is ok, But upgrade the system only by a program seems absurd.
Like me, many quietly use this old system, and even the versions more recent of Blender work on Windows XP.
It is a pity really not considered that Wings3D does not work on XP :/
So I guess I will keep using the version 1.5.4.

Absurd is that Wings still do not have selections by cooplanar surfaces, also no boolean tools ? that is big absurd

Why official release do not have these and a few other basic functions ? I'm not interested in any sralifond version, author of that edition do not talk with any sense. Once I have that edition based on 1.5.3 and lost it because HDD broke. I thought "ok, ill download it again". but guess what? he deleted all other versions and now only 64bit is available:/ thanks for deleting this software, even if its outdated.... good work with new ugly design of wings, better that than working on features? yes? good work

Might be able to come up with a 1.5.x version somewhere if I really want to ... to help someone ... but my motivations are not there.

Not going to sit around in a cave playing with old computers and old software ... no fun.

Booleans are not that trivial to implement would like that in main wings as well.
Also selecting coplanar faces sounds like a good idea.

ggaliens do you have the code your somewhere, or a pull req?

The ugly gui, needed a rewrite, sorry if you don't like the new one, but the old one
was written in OpenGL and we could not develop it any further, to much work..

But as always Wings is a opensource project,
if you want stuff you can help by developing it.

Each person do what [s]he thinks is fun and send my pull-requests I then
decide what comes in and what doesn't, but if no one codes anything
nothing will be done.

Dan ... what do YOU want from a co-planar faces selector ?

I would put it on the "by menu". It would take TWO tolerance values ... 1 for ANGLE between planes. And another for DISTANCE from given faces centroid. Normally user would probably not mess with angle between planes parameter ... but that's would remain to be seen based on how people want to use it.

It could be used to select all faces pointing "WEST" for example in a city scape. But then the DISTANCE parameter needs to be very loose.
